The Adelaide Convention Bureau’s Destination South Australia (DSA) is Adelaide’s premiere showcase for business events and incentive travel industry.
DSA, an annual event is responsible for bringing tens of millions of dollars into SA each year as a result of the one on one meetings and touring schedule undertaken by the invited event and incentive buyers and planners (from interstate and overseas) – the 2010 event realised around $41m income for the state.
The Bureau is proud to announce that 2011’s event to be held August 2-6 will be the most extensive ever, with an increased international delegation from Asia and New Zealand. In addition, a larger than ever media contingent with pre-agreed commitments will see Adelaide, South Australia the focus of a number of feature stories in national and international trade publications and websites
Destination SA guests will arrive in Adelaide from 2nd August to be whisked off by the Adelaide Convention Bureau team on a series of regional familiarisation tours to the famous Barossa Valley, Kangaroo Island, The Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale regions and the CBD where they will experience the very best food, wine, activities and accommodation SA has to offer.
On Friday August 5th guests will attend an exhibition and a series of personalised appointments with local businesses and organisations who may in turn benefit from the future business bought into the state. A record number of local businesses will participate in this exhibition and networking opportunity.
Significant points of interest for visiting buyers this year will include the exciting developments surrounding the Adelaide Convention Centre and Adelaide Oval, and the launch of the Incentives Adelaide program. The latter stimulating great interest in unique regional experiences.
Of course no major event is complete without a social calendar – invited guests will attend a welcome reception on Thursday 4th in the Mortlock Chamber at the State Library and a closing gala dinner on Friday 5th at the Adelaide Oval Function Centre

The Adelaide Convention Bureau’s Destination SA 2011 looks set to ensure 2011/12 and proceeding years are busy in terms of both a financial return for SA as a result of business attracted to the state by hosted guests and the generation of media stories featuring SA – in print and on line by national and international media.
