Scene Change, Australia’s #2 AV company, has opened a Launceston office after winning the in-house contract at the city’s premier 4.5 star venue, the Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston.
It continues Scene Change’s extraordinary run of growth, which has put it at #48 on BRW magazine’s list of fastest-growing startup businesses in Australia. Launceston is enjoying solid success as a conference destination, drawing delegates with its Georgian architecture, renowned regional produce and remarkable cold-climate wines.
”We’re delighted to partner with Scene Change, who have redefined service levels in the Tasmanian market,” said Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston General Manager Glenn Robertson. “Their staff are dedicated professionals who understand the need to be on the top of their game on every show, and their pricing is very fair, which is important in a regional destination.”
Scene Change has won the MEA State Award for Technical and Creative Production Services every year since its formation in 2007. It has experienced particularly strong growth in the exhibition sector, and in late 2011 it purchased its own purpose-built warehouse complex to store rental furniture and custom construction facilities.
“Launceston was the next logical step for us,” said Scene Change Tasmania Director Rod Street. “We were spending a lot of time trucking shows up from Hobart, and this will allow us to offer a much more local, responsive service here.”
The Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston will be equipped with an all-new range of technology, plus a large stock of exhibition booths to service ancillary trade shows. The hotel has 8 function rooms as well as the historic Albert Hall nearby, which is managed by the venue for dinners and gala events. Combined, the two venues can handle functions for up to 1900 people.
Scene Change opens in Launceston on February 20th.
