The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) announced that Minister for Tourism and International Education, and Minister Assisting the Minister for Trade and Investment, the Hon Richard Colbeck, will join industry leaders at the Association’s Leaders Forum Dinner on Thursday, 9 June 2016.
Minister Colbeck joins NSW Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and Investment, Major Events and Tourism, Jonathan O’Dea, as one of two government officials participating in the EEAA 2016 Leaders Forum, held this year to coincide with the first-ever Global Exhibitions Day (#GED16).
EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio, said the high-level support from government for this year’s event was very positive and underscored the importance and value of the exhibition and event sector to national and state economic priorities.
“It’s pleasing to have this level of government representation for our event and our sector. Both Minister Colbeck’s and Mr O’Dea’s presence lends weight to our cause and sends a clear message that exhibitions and events matter to our governments,” said Ms DiMascio.
“Together with Mr James Pearson, the new CEO of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this year’s forum will welcome very influential leaders to engage with our industry, signalling the sector’s growing visibility in the corridors of government and business. This is a great message to send to the world on Global Exhibitions Day.

Minister Colbeck’s attendance provides a fitting end to the association’s annual flagship professional development and “think-tank” event. He joins a high-profile list of speakers for this year’s forum, which includes:
