Sofitel Brisbane Central today announced that it has appointed Edwina Mason to the position of Associate Director of Sales.
Ms Mason joins Brisbane’s luxurious Sofitel hotel armed with more than 10 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry. During her career, Ms Mason has worked primarily across Australia and New Zealand, cultivating a particular expertise and experience in the dynamic meetings, events and incentive markets.
Immediately prior to her new appointment, Ms Mason was based on the Gold Coast as Director of Sales – MICE, representing the RACV Royal Pines Resort and Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Golf Resort & Spa, a role she held since 2007.
Before this, she was Business Development Manager at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, one of the Accor hotel group’s busiest and most popular hotels across both the MICE and leisure markets.
Earlier in her career Ms Mason based herself in New Zealand, and worked for the five-star Carlton Hotel in Auckland (now known as the Rendezvous Hotel Auckland).
Sofitel Brisbane Central General Manager Tony Chisholm says, “We are very excited to welcome Edwina to her new sales role. Implementing this Associate Director of Sales position at the hotel is a great support for Sofitel Brisbane’s Director of Sales & Marketing Chanelle Garvey and her team, and reinforces the positive direction in which our business is moving. I am confident that Edwina’s insight and experience will be a tremendous asset for the hotel as we look ahead to a busy summer and rebounding sales scene in 2011.”
