Staging Connections, the leading provider of innovative audio visual and event staging solutions has celebrated a BIG year Australia-wide; from supplying key events for the G20 in Brisbane, to the 105th Rotary International Convention in Sydney, to the AFL’s Best and Fairest week of award galas in Melbourne, the IUCN World Parks Congress in Sydney and the Royal Adelaide Show.
Staging Connections provided AV services for multiple events at the G20 in Brisbane including the pre-dinner drinks for 350 guests, the dinner for World Leaders and the Treasury Dinner for 160 guests at the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA).
As Susan Hamilton, Sales Manager – South East Queensland commented, “It was a great honour to be part of such a historic event and our team of AV professionals really shone. They found solutions to the challenges of dealing with high profile international leaders, ensuring the highest quality audio experience for all attendees.”
Comprehensive risk assessments and accreditation of all employees was required to work amongst the world’s most powerful leaders at the G20 and Staging Connections’ full compliance ensured seamless and memorable events.
From an event with the highest profile audience to an event with the largest audience, Staging Connections was appointed as the chosen event management organisation for the 105th Rotary International Convention held in Australia for the first time since 2003. Successfully delivering four different themes to suit the four day event for 18,000 delegates, Staging Connections excelled in designing the content that was projected in 3D onto replica sails of the Sydney Opera House flanking the main stage at Allphones Arena in Sydney.
Delivering eight gala awards dinners across eight nights at The Palladium at Crown in Melbourne for AFL’s Best & Fairest week showcased Staging Connections’ versatility as a true partner and in house AV provider. Using a single set, eight individual event experiences were created by maximising tailored multimedia content, projected onto the custom made screen surfaces 40 metres wide by 4.5 metres high. Bespoke animation and clever lighting delivered a cost effective, high impact solution which satisfied the needs of multiple clients.
The landmark global forum on protected areas, the IUCN World Parks Congress is an event that happens only once every 10 years; Staging Connections was brought on board as technical and creative production partner for the event in November 2014. A custom made screen 30 metres wide by 6 metres high was built at Sydney Olympic Park for a range of creative content that provided a backdrop to aerial performers as part of the opening ceremony.
South Australia’s biggest annual event, The Royal Adelaide Show was 10 days of entertainment and excitement. A highlight for the team was developing the technical production for the Tinker – Tailor Fashion Maker show; a magical journey through 175 years of fashion, which was held four times a day. The technical production was heavily automated ensuring consistency and accuracy over the 40 shows. In addition, Staging Connections provided full risk management of all technical production and caught all the action of the horse jumping, stunt bikes and wood chopping in the main arena with full roaming and fixed camera systems showing content live on screen.
Amongst staging over 50,000 events for their clients, 2014 has also been a rewarding year for Staging Connections; welcoming 12 trainees to the business, winning five state MEA Awards, becoming finalists in the Australian HR Awards and Australian Event Awards and winning a SafeWork Award for internal safety management program, Stagesafe. In addition, Staging Connections welcomed 8 new venues on board across Australia and New Zealand to their portfolio of partners.
