Hot on the heels of Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger’s visit to the Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) last month, Brisbane’s newest convention centre will host the who’s who of Queensland cricket this weekend.
More than 300 guests will attend the Queensland Cricket Awards this Saturday at the Royal ICC.
It will be a star studded affair with Queensland cricket legends in attendance, including former Australian wicket keeper Ian Healy who will MC the prestigious event. Guests will enjoy a three course meal using the best of the best Australian produce, created by the Royal ICC’s world-class chefs.
The awards will celebrate Queensland Cricket’s achievements from the 2014-15 season and award Brisbane Heat’s Most Valuable Player, the Konica Minolta Queensland Fire Player of the Year, the Ian Healy Trophy and the myFootDr Queensland Bulls Player of the Year.
The Queensland Cricket Awards follow Schwarzenegger’s recent visit to the Royal ICC for the Queensland Real Estate Agents’ Summit 2015. More than 850 guests attended the event which was held over two days at the state-of-the-art convention centre.
Royal ICC General Manager Venue Sales & Marketing Sally Pulford said it was coup for the Royal ICC to attract such high profile events.
“Since we opened in March 2013, more than 300 events have been held here, including the great honour of hosting Her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal (Princess Anne) at the 26th Commonwealth Agricultural Conference last October,’’ she said.
“We are also thrilled to be hosting another A list event this August – the tenth anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival (MBFF).”
Australian fashionistas will descend on the Brisbane Showgrounds precinct this August for the state’s premier fashion event which will be held at the historic John Reid Pavilion.
The new location allows the MBFF to accommodate more guests than ever before and create a spectacular new stage. MBFF organisers are confident the festival will be an amazing event celebrating its tenth anniversary in style.
