After receiving highly competitive bids from all around Australia, and an extremely tough decision, organisers are delighted to announce that the Australian Event Awards will be held on the Sunshine Coast in 2016, 2017 and the 10th anniversary in 2018.
The Awards will be held at the Novotel Twin Waters in 2016 and 2018 and at the Events Centre in 2017, after an enthusiastic and highly collaborative bid put forward by Business Events Sunshine Coast, Visit Sunshine Coast and Sunshine Coast Council. The bid is also backed by partnerships with Qantas and airport transfer service Con-X-ion to support those who are travelling to attend the Awards.
The Event Awards’ move to the Sunshine Coast is a chance to uncover the immense potential of Australia’s regional destinations. Plus after seven years in Sydney, the Awards venturing into new territory is an adventure we’re looking forward to taking you on.
Set to host its largest ever portfolio of events in 2016, including over 60 major and regional events, the Sunshine Coast is well placed to be the home of the Australian Event Awards for the next three years, and a focal point for the national events industry each September when the Awards take place.
The Australian Event Symposium will also be held on the Sunshine Coast on the two days following the Awards. In 2016, the theme of Symposium will be “Inspiration, Operation and Communication”. We’re seeking to bring together the creative directors of some of Australia’s most significant events and give you some great ideas and strategies to apply to your own projects.
The Event Awards 2016 will be held at 7.00pm on Wednesday 21 September followed by the Symposium on Thursday and Friday 22-23 September.
