The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre last week played host to some of the future success stories of the Australian conference scene, offering them insight from industry leaders and past conference organisers at the Platform11 seminar.
Held annually in conjunction with Business Events Sydney (BESydney), Platform allows associations and future event planners to hear from others who have already held successful events in Sydney. Attendees include representatives of national associations and other local organisations looking to stage international conferences in Sydney, now ranked the world’s 10th most popular convention city.
Speakers at this year’s event included Westmead Hospital’s Dr David Schell (pictured left), the organising committee chair for the 6th World Congress on Pediatric Critical Care held in March. He was joined by Emeritus Professor John Trinder from the University of NSW (right), the organising committee chair for the 34th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment held in April.
