Following the highly successful lunch debate ‘Innovation in Events: A good idea or just a fad?’ in October, Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) presents for the second time, The Conversation Table.
Hosted by one of Australia’s most popular stand-up comedians James O’Loghlin, invited VIP guests will debate; ‘Education vs Experience: A fresh schooled approach or a wealth of hands-on understanding?’ in the Ivy Room on Friday, 10 February 2012 in front of meetings and event professionals from all aspects of the industry.
Battling it out will be Dominic Thurbon – a dynamic Gen Y honours student, political scientist and co-founder/Chief Creative Officer of ChangeLabs who will argue for the value of education.
Presenting the case for experience is one of Australia’s most prominent and successful media identities – Peter FitzSimons AM. With global travels under his belt and three children, the former Wallaby will be very convincing for the value of education.
The Conversation Table series benefits event professionals with its brain-teasing session that gets the creative and inspiration juices flowing.
Linda P Gaunt, Chief Executive Office of Meetings & Events Australia says she hopes the lunch series inspires the audience with new ideas and different opinions to create excellence within the events industry.
“MEA is all about fostering professionalism in all aspects of meetings management. Guests will get to hear from experts, generate business contacts and network with peers for a mutual learning experience,’ says Linda P Gaunt.
It is envisaged that this event will occur three times a year and there will be a Melbourne location for one of the series.
