Leading business event and venue sourcing specialists, TheVenueShop, put their best foot forward to support an initiative assisting the unemployed through training, personalised grooming services and provision of professional attire to help them enter the workforce.
TheVenueShop gathered its clients for Wear for Success via a launch event for their #ProjectSuccess fundraiser last week at The Waiting Room, Crown Towers Melbourne.
Event industry professionals, from diverse roles including HR, Learning and Development, Executive Assistants and Event Managers, representing significant companies such as ANZ, IAG, NAB, Visy and Salmat, attended the event on Tuesday, 29th September, to support the cause and learn how they can be more efficient in their current roles via TheVenueShop’s extensive services and expertise.
Lisa Roberts, Managing Director of Ultimate Performance+Recruitment, Conferences+Events and Founder of TheVenueShop, said her team is extremely proud to be partnering with a worthy, Melbourne-based, not for profit that aligns so closely with their own values.
“Our business has always focused on finding solutions, helping others, collaboration and using our connections to the benefit of our clients. For some time now we have been searching for a way to apply these strengths and to extend these values and philosophies into the wider community and are proud to announce our support of Wear for Success.
“We care for our clients and the emphasis we put on relationships is so much more than a typical venue-finding model. This is reflected in our choice to partner with Wear for Success via the delivery of engaging industry events and fundraising activities,” said Ms Roberts.
Jodie Aickin, Operations Manager of Wear for Success is the sole employee of this inspirational organisation – they have been operating for five years without any government funding and rely on a dedicated team of volunteers. Ms Aickin shared with guests the history and nature of Wear for Success’ services, including their gratitude for the support of everyone present.
“We are so thrilled to see the turnout and generosity of the event industry in support of our cause. We would like to sincerely thank TheVenueShop for making this happen and look forward to working closely with them on future initiatives,” said Ms Aickin.
Guests gathered for networking over antipasto, followed by a selection of canapes and sweet treats, washing it all down with a selection of refreshing beverages from attentive staff at The Waiting Room.
The winners of a business card drop on the night were treated to a Readings Voucher and a bottle of Prosecco. Then following an activity, all guests vied for a further two prizes of a Visa Gift Card, and the major prize, a package at the winner’s choice of Art Series Hotel including Smart Car use for a day and welcome bubbles on arrival. All guests took home a taste of the Yarra Valley with a bottle of Pink Moscato from Innocent Bystander and delicious chocolates courtesy of Say It On Chocolate.
Raffle ticket holders can win an exhilarating and indulgent package at QT Sydney – an art, design, fashion, music and food lovers playground. The prize includes two nights’ QT Deluxe King accommodation at the boutique hotel plus $1,000 spending spree, flights and more, valued at $2,500.
