Townsville Enterprise Chief Executive Officer David Kippin said the win highlights Townsville’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and environmental sustainability.
“This win at Australia’s largest international business expo strengthens Townsville’s presence as a sustainable destination and aligns with our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility”.
Co-exhibiting with Mercure Townsville and Jupiters Townsville Hotel & Casino, the exhibit incorporated a CSR theme. The exhibition booth made from ecofriendly materials, was on display to more than 2,000 delegates from around the world. The cardboard based eco-board product designed and manufactured by exhibition specialists SSS Events, is fully recyclable, light weight and flat packable and will be reused for future events and expos.
Townsville Enterprise also launched 10 new CSR programs at the Expo which give corporations and their conference delegates an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to society and the environment.
“Townsville Enterprise has developed these programs in conjunction with local operators and with the support of Tourism and Events Queensland to promote the practices and attitudes that contribute to the sustainable development of the Townsville North Queensland Region.”
“There was a specific interest at the Expo in taking events outside major cities to regional areas and our CSR programs and green meetings proved to be a drawcard for conference organisers”
