Over one thousand delegates from nearly 60 countries are attending one of the world’s largest international conferences on Women & Law Enforcement at the Cairns Convention Centre from 17-21 September 2017.
The Conference started with a Parade of Nations through the streets of Cairns which were flooded with colour as members marched behind their nation’s flag towards the Convention Centre to the official opening.
The 2017 International Women & Law Enforcement conference is themed ‘Global Networks: Local Law Enforcement’ to celebrate the cooperation between law enforcement agencies and communities around the globe.
Cairns proved a popular destination for organisers, with the Conference selling out 26 days before the event.
Ross Steele, General Manager, Cairns Convention Centre, said, “Cairns proved a stunning backdrop for the Parade of Nations by the International Women & Law Enforcement as we proudly welcomed them to the Convention Centre. The enthusiasm from the marchers was infectious, creating a carnival atmosphere as they threaded their way through the streets of the city.”
