Be Yourself. Be Happy.

Of the grand order of folio leviathans, the Sperm Whale and the Right Whale are by far the most noteworthy. They are the only whales regularly hunted by man. To the Nantucketer, they present the two extremes of all the known varieties of the whale. As the external difference between them is mainly observable in their heads; and as a head of each is this moment hanging from the Pequod's side.

Stay Positive. Always.

The Australian Event Awards delivered a night to remember on Wednesday night by recognising the best Australian events and achievements that took place in the 12 months prior to 30 June 2022 aboard The Jackson yacht on Sydney Harbour.

Among the winners on the night were Vivid Sydney 2022 who won Best Public Event, North Australian Festival of Arts 2022 who took home Best Regional Event and Summer X Salt Markets 2021/2022 who won Best Small Event.

In the achievement sphere Best Technical Achievement went to TDC-Technical Direction Company for their work on Vivid Sydney 2022 and ARTISTS IN MOTION PTY LTD picked up not one but two winner titles including Best Achievement in Design for their work on Expo 2020 Dubai UAE and Best Export for their work on A Symphony of Lights 2021.

There was also a range of events that increased their awards tally at last night’s ceremony including Northern Territory Major Events Company after winning both Best Community Event and Best Achievement in Marketing or Communication for their work on Parrtjima – A Festival in Light 2022 and Best Cultural, Arts or Music Event for their BASSINTHEGRASS Music Festival 2022.

The headline categories highlighted Caroline James Events as Small Event Management Organisation of the Year and The Shift Corp as Event Management Organisation of the Year, who also gained an extra win when their event The Bloody Long Walk National Series 2021/2022 won Best Charity or Cause-Related Event.

Finally, Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings Events 2022 won the biggest award of the evening, Australian Event of the Year. This award is chosen from the National Winners of the Best Event Categories and recognises an event that excels against the criteria of its category and demonstrates an outstanding example of creativity, innovation and best practice in the events industry.

The night was one to remember thanks to the Event Awards spectacular venue and Major Partner, The Jackson vessel on Sydney Harbour! After stepping on board from No. 1 King St, Darling Harbour, and ascending the grand staircase to The Jackson’s alluring Mid Deck, guests were able to experience panoramic water views while enjoying light canapes and a selection of fine Australian wines and beer. After this, attendees were served a decadent 3-course-meal as the winners were announced against the backdrop of the gorgeous Sydney harbour.

The night also boasted some incredible entertainment of vocalists and musicians. The Yeo Trio from the Conservatorium of Music serenaded guests upon arrival with acoustic Latin and Jazz music followed by Masha Mnjoyan who opened the show with her incredible vocals and Daniele Montarulo on the guitar and violin during entrée and dessert. The Yeo Trio also made an upbeat return to the stage during dinner on the Drum Kit, Electric Bass and Saxophone and the spectacular vocalist Rebecca Harkin took to the stage to end the evening.
