Be Yourself. Be Happy.

Of the grand order of folio leviathans, the Sperm Whale and the Right Whale are by far the most noteworthy. They are the only whales regularly hunted by man. To the Nantucketer, they present the two extremes of all the known varieties of the whale. As the external difference between them is mainly observable in their heads; and as a head of each is this moment hanging from the Pequod's side.

Stay Positive. Always.

Australian Event Awards searching for the Events Capital of Australia

The Event Awards has released the opportunity to host its prestigious Ceremony and the associated Event Symposium to all Australian destinations, venues, States and Territories for 2023, 2024 and 2025.

“This is a terrific opportunity for regions, destinations, new and established venues, attractions and accommodation providers to showcase what they have to offer to the key decision makers in the $17bn Aussie events business and thereby snare new events for their region” say Ian Steigrad, Managing Director of the Event Awards.

Now in its 15th year, the Australian Event Awards has recognised a vast array of events as some of the best in the industry from every state and territory over the years, from every corner of the country.

“Being nominated as one of the top five in their category is an immense achievement and worthy of recognition for their effort, professionalism, creativity and contribution to our growing industry” says Steigrad.

Events recognised have included North Australian Festival of Arts (QLD), Gibb Challenge (WA), Santos Tour Down Under (SA), The Falls Music & Arts Festival, Marion Bay (TAS), Byron Bay Bluesfest (NSW), Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings Events (VIC), Australian Cyber Security Centre Conference (ACT), and Parrtjima – A Festival in Light (NT).

Organisations that also received recognition for their achievements include Tourism Australia, David Atkins Enterprises, Milestone Creative Australia, Krista Hauritz Tourism, Caroline James Events and many more.

“Traditionally, collaborative bids have fared best, so I really encourage organisations to consider partnerships with each other and their destination. The unity in the bid emphasises the value in collaboration and strategic partnerships – this is what the events industry is about. In the words of our 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Peter Jones, ‘any industry is only as important as the people who support it’ and that’s what we’re looking for”.

All destinations, venues, accommodation providers and attractions are encouraged to get together and put in a bid – it is an opportunity to demonstrate what they have to offer directly to the industry and showcase their local services, cuisine and event spaces.

This is also an invaluable opportunity for the local events community to connect with producers and suppliers from across the country, network and increase their contact database and vice versa.

The Search for a Home will close at 5:00pm AEST on Thursday 27 April 2023.

The Bid Documents can be downloaded from the website: www.eventawards.com.au
