Today BECA received notification that the 2013 round of TQual grants which were under reviewed by the new Minister responsible, Minister Robb, would go ahead as planned.
BECA Executive Manager Inge Garofani said the confirmation these grants would go ahead was welcome news for all of the recipients.
“We were thrilled to be awarded such a fantastic grant and to see the new government honour the grant program has made us very pleased in deed. Our research project, which the funding will be used for, was placed on hold and this means a delay in the benefits the project will bring to the industry. However with this welcome news we will be moving ahead as quickly as possible to get the project off the ground.” Ms Garofani said.
Ms Garofani said the scope of the project would have been severely limited without the government funding support being available to match industry funding.
“We are now confident the project will deliver the results we had hoped for and we can get it back on track for results in 2014.
