Chinese incentive planners, corporate decision makers and media taking part in the Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase experienced first-hand Melbourne and regional Victoria’s incentive offering this week.
“The Melbourne Showcase day was an ideal opportunity to show how Australia delivers inspiring incentive programs,” said Penny Lion Executive General Manager Events Tourism Australia.
“ Our Chinese delegates enjoyed some of Australia’s best food and wine, and discovered how our natural landscapes and friendly welcoming people can create some truly memorable events,” said Ms Lion.
The day kicked off at Flemington Race Course where the group experienced the new Club Stands before a dedicated morning tea on the lawn facing the finish line for the Melbourne Cup.
Corporate decision makers and media went on to experience Campbell Point House on the Bellarine Peninsula, enjoying a seafood lunch, hosted by Geelong Mayor Bruce Harwood, followed by wine tasting at Jack Rabbit Winery. A highlight for the group was the surprise scenic helicopter journey back to Melbourne.
A second group of Chinese incentive planners enjoyed a day in the Yarra Valley where they experienced grape stomping and wine blending at Rochford Wines.
In the evening, dinner concluded the Melbourne host city program demonstrating the depth of Australia’s creativity, capability and innovation in event delivery.
With the Melbourne host city program for the Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase concluded, groups of Chinese incentive planners, corporate decision makers and media travelled on educational visits to other incentive destinations around Australia, discovering the country’s natural beauty and exclusive incentive experiences.
