Canberra has a new bar. Now while that may not be breaking news across Australia it is making a buzz in Canberra.
The problem is – you have to be in the know to find this bar. You have to know just what inconspicuous door to find in Hobart Place. Then tentatively wend you way down to a basement. And there is Molly!
Molly is based on a prohibition era New York speakeasy – hence no sign out the front – just an obscure door.
Molly was the place for members to gather for the MEA ACT awards presentation.
Committee member Jane Carter presented the awards and then Molly’s resident scotch expert introduced the guests to three very fine products from Scotland. A fitting way to round off a night in a bar that has an entire wall of the very fine malted drop to sample.
