This week around 40 industry people got together for a Christmas in July dinner in Sydney. This ad-hoc group started with ex ISES members getting together a few years ago for a Christmas dinner, and as some of us are still working and not able to attend in December it was decided to opt for a Christmas in July.
John Rohanna acted as MC and Meri Took ran a trivia competition focussed on somewhat obscure event related trivia eg “For how many minutes did the cauldron remain stuck during the Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony” (it was an excruciating four minutes) and, “How many grand pianos featured in the 1984 Olympics Opening Ceremony” (it was 84).
The founding president of the ISES Australia chapter, Lena Malouf, provided the décor.
I’ll post details of the next event which I encourage anyone in Sydney at the time to attend.
