Be Yourself. Be Happy.

Of the grand order of folio leviathans, the Sperm Whale and the Right Whale are by far the most noteworthy. They are the only whales regularly hunted by man. To the Nantucketer, they present the two extremes of all the known varieties of the whale. As the external difference between them is mainly observable in their heads; and as a head of each is this moment hanging from the Pequod's side.

Stay Positive. Always.

Lateral Events, the multi-award winning, independent, creative and diverse full-service event management company, celebrates 25 years with a change in ownership.

Simon Baggs will assume the role of Chairman, stepping down from his CEO role, and moving to working four-days-a-week from January 2023 onwards.

General Manager Megan Peters has been promoted to CEO.

Simon Baggs has gifted half the company to long standing senior executives:

Megan Peters                                    Director                CEO

Jette Baggs Sargood                        Director                Head of People & Relationships

Markus Baggs Sargood                   Non-Executive Director

Isabelle Cherry                                  Director                Head of Premium Events

Caroline Didier                                  Director                Tour Manager & Senior Event Producer

Simon Baggs said, “Since Lateral’s inception 25 years ago, the company has become something of a powerhouse in premium events, business events and intellectual entertainment theatre tours. I am so proud of the team that has delivered 140 live events attended by 99,200 people across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan this year, as we get back off the floor after the pandemic. I am so pleased that our core team will now be directors and shareholders, that they will own the company that they have worked so hard to make a success.Lateral’s future looks very bright, with a very busy 2023 and significant contracts and tours in place right through to 2026.

“I would like to thank our clients, some of them who have been with us for more than twenty years, for the faith they place in us, for the challenges bring us and comradery we enjoy with them”.
