Event entertainment company Onstage Entertainment are doing their bit to bring the events industry together in Brisbane by setting up a co-working, hot-desking space specifically designed for the events industry.
Known as “The Casting Couch Warehouse“, the space in Enogerra is all polished concrete floors, clean lines and high ceilings and features a pop-up exhibition for event companies to show off their latest products, a board room for hire and an affordable valet service to take people into Brisbane CBD 6km away.
A number of event industry companies have already taken up residences and partnerships with Onstage Entertainment in the space, with ExpoNet using the space as a secondary showroom and Be Challenged moving in and providing team-building activities for groups who want to use the space. The Event Society has also taken a spot on the couch while Brisbane catering group Wine & Dine ‘m will provide their services for any groups hiring the space.
Onstage Entertainment’s Managing Director Andrea Heath says “the space can be anything you want it to be”.
“The Casting Couch warehouse creates a unique space for like-minded, energised MICE’ers to collaborate and share ideas or simply enjoy the energy of co-habitation with other industry professionals.
“The concept of co-working is to bring bright, creative people together to let ideas collide, so why not do it in an industry specific hub, surrounded by supplier product for inspiration?” she adds.
“Our entertainers are also using the space for photo shoots and rehearsals, so you may also get a sneak peak at the backstage life of Onstage Entertainment.”
Decinda MacDonald, Creative Director of event styling business The Event Society, who has recently moved into the space, points to the sense of community co-working brings.
“We need more unity in the industry” she says, adding that co-working is a very positive step towards that.
“I think as a small business owner it can be a bit lonely and having a team of professionals that you can bounce ideas off and discuss industry trends with really makes it more enjoyable,” she says.
