Daylesford and Macedon Ranges Regional Tourism Board (DMRRTB) today announces the appointment of Judith Isherwood as its new General Manager.
Judith brings a wealth of experience to the role and a genuine passion for the region. She recently purchased a property in Daylesford after stepping down from her previous position in Melbourne, her experience and vision make Judith the perfect choice for this challenging position.
Judith is a respected and experienced leader after a career spanning more than 30 years in Australia and overseas, and we are thrilled she is joining the team.
Judith joins us from the Melbourne Arts Centre where she held the position of Chief Executive. During her time there, she oversaw the critically acclaimed $135m redevelopment of Hamer Hall and its surrounds, and when it reopened, Arts Centre Melbourne achieved the highest visitation in its 30-year history.
Prior to Arts Centre Melbourne, Judith spent nearly seven years as the inaugural Chief Executive of Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre, and was Director of Performing Arts at the Sydney Opera House where she played a pivotal role in staging the 2000 Olympic Games Cultural Festival at the Opera House.
During her varied career, Judith has held a variety of leadership roles with major festivals, community organisations, state government and major performing arts centres. Originally from regional Victoria, Judith has a sound understanding of what makes areas such as ours ‘tick’ and has the capacity to lead our organisation through the implementation of the recent organisational review.
The recruitment process has taken a little longer than I had hoped, however we were fortunate to have a very strong field of candidates seeking the role of General Manager all having a sound understanding of the challenges that the region faces.
Judith demonstrates a passion and commitment to the region and we look forward to her leading us into the next exciting phase of development in the Daylesford & Macedon Ranges region.
The board will be meeting with Judith next week to discuss our priorities for the next few months, she commences in her new role on 28th January.
