Be Yourself. Be Happy.

Of the grand order of folio leviathans, the Sperm Whale and the Right Whale are by far the most noteworthy. They are the only whales regularly hunted by man. To the Nantucketer, they present the two extremes of all the known varieties of the whale. As the external difference between them is mainly observable in their heads; and as a head of each is this moment hanging from the Pequod's side.

Stay Positive. Always.

Not only did Susan win the Event Manager of the Year – Professional Conference Organiser Award, she also received one of the highest accolades from MEA – the Platinum Event Professional of the Year.

“After more than 16 years owning and managing Absolute Events & Marketing, and more than 23 years being involved in the event industry, I am thrilled and flattered to receive this recognition” Susan said.

“I am extremely proud to win these MEA awards as it not only boosts my desire to continue managing an interesting range of events for our clients (associations, Federal and State Government, corporate), but it also shows the commitment and passion from my team to deliver successful events for our clients.”

“Our mission statement is Conference and Events with Heart…. By People Who Care. I am proud that we use this to deliver the best possible experience to our clients. ” Susan added.

Preparing an award application is an opportunity for both reflection and growth and it has certainly been a busy month for the Absolute Events & Marketing team. Susan was delighted by winning the MEA Queensland State Award for Event Manager of the Year – PCO, winning the two MEA national awards, and also recently achieved Certified Event Professional (CEM) status with the Professional Conference Organiser Association (PCOA). This makes her the only PCO in Queensland with accreditation from two key industry associations, as well as being a multi-award winner.

The MEA Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements and expertise of individuals and organisations in the events sector, rewarding excellence, creativity and professionalism in the design, management, delivery, servicing and advancement of the events industry in Australia.

Susan highly recommends the MEA Awards to other businesses wishing to showcase their achievements. She also supports membership of industry associations for valuable ongoing professional development and the advocacy they provide for the events industry.
