As the doors close on the first event at Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island ([email protected]), organisers, visitors and exhibitors are unanimous in their verdict that the new interim facility is a success.
Reed Gift Fairs Sydney February opened last Saturday for its five-day event, with more than 440 individual companies – manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors of gift wares and home products – exhibiting across five halls of the new facility.
Managing Director Reed Exhibitions Australia, Debbie Evans, said she was pleased with the new venue.
“Our customers love it; the natural light and environment is highly conducive to conducting business,” she said.
Adrian Slingsby, Manager – Events for AEG Odgen, operator of [email protected], said the interim facility had worked extremely well operationally and there had been very few teething issues.
“We are delighted with how well everything has gone in the past five days. The new facility has been very well received by customers and visitors.
“The transport strategy – a combination of onsite car parks, free bus services from Central and Darling Harbour and free ferries from Circular Quay and Darling Harbour – has made it easy and enjoyable for visitors to get to and from the venue.”
[email protected] will host Sydney’s trade and consumer exhibitions for three years during the construction of the new exhibition, conference and entertainment facilities at Darling Harbour.
