Last night, the MEA National Meeting Manager of the Year award was presented to MCI Australia Project Director, Cindy-Lee Bakos.
Cindy-Lee took home the prestigious Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) national award for her work on three key events: the Asia Pacific Hepato Pancreato Biliary Association Congress, the Commonwealth Business Forum, and the combined FAOPS-PSANZ congresses.
The win recognises not only Cindy-Lee’s exceptional skills in meetings management but also her outstanding service to clients, bolstering MCI Australia’s prestigious reputation through her contribution to business development, industry support, CSR and management.
Director of Operations, Jan Shaw, could not have been prouder of Cindy-Lee’s win. “Cindy-Lee’s win is a testament to her dedication to her clients and to improving the way we deliver our service to them,” said Jan.
Upon receiving the award, Cindy-Lee was full of praise for her colleagues. “I would also like to take the opportunity to thank MCI for their belief, support and encouragement; Jan Shaw as an inspiring mentor and the management team for their invaluable advice on so many aspects of my role. I’d especially like to thank my teams in Melbourne and Adelaide who have provided a vast amount of both professional and moral support—the latter of which is hugely important in an industry such as ours,” said Cindy-Lee.
MCI Australia’s clients and suppliers supported Cindy-Lee’s award nomination saying:
“Cindy-Lee displayed all the qualities which contributed to the outstanding success of this meeting. She was highly professional, knowledgeable and well organised. Her communication with the organising committee was excellent and she showed initiative and flexibility with issues that invariably arose during the organisation of this meeting. I would be more than happy to have Cindy-Lee be heavily involved with any of our future meetings.”
—Chris Christophi, 2011 Meeting Convenor, Asia Pacific Hepato Pancreato Biliary Association
“She is always pleasant and well organized, easy to approach and communicate with, willing to listen to suggestions, able to direct and make important and necessary decisions when required, guides her team with a professional skill and always keeps the client’s best interest at heart … Cindy-Lee understands the underlying ebb and flow of how the industry works.”
