I took a break since Christmas and like many in our industry I had to reassess what my businesses are doing.
I had discussions with a few people about the future direction of specialevents.com.au and decided to revamp the site – and the content.
I’m now going to focus on commentary, opinion, interviews and event reports which I’ve spelled out in this blog post. You can read press releases elsewhere.
Gone is the weekly EDM – instead I will be sending email alerts whenever we publish, and a weekly wrap. Links to posts will also be added to our social media channels.
During 2020 I launched a live streaming business as part of EventPix (which had no event bookings for six months) and started to pick up funerals and weddings. So I launched a specialist service for weddings (Our Live Wedding) and for corporate (EventPix LIVE). Fortunately this income is helping to finance ASE.
Now to your stories and the Black Friday anniversary
Friday the 13th March 2020 will forever be known as Black Friday for the event industry – the day our industry was shut down for at least six months.
That anniversary is coming up this week and I want to hear from you. There has been a number of surveys about how businesses have fared. But I want to share your stories. How was your business affected, what did you learn about yourself and your business, were you able to come up with a new product or service?
I will publish these articles as your stories – my editorial eye will just look at formatting, grammar and spelling. Please email your story and add a brief bio about yourself with a photo – check out the other bios here.
